Natalie
and Jon met in a Tapas bar and it's fair
to say it was love at first sight (When
do we get second sight?). Their mutual love
of Tapas and silly humour led to the invention
of a pseudo-Mediterranean language which
started by signing off e-mails with 'Mucho
luvio'. When Natalie decided to finally
start the greeting card company of her dreams,
Natalie thought 'Luvio' was the perfect
name.
Jon started life as a collection of cells
and still in this form went to college.
Lacking in direction he went to work for
IBM then on to Racal as a salesman of sorts
who somehow achieved a degree in marketing.
He spent a large part of his 20's and a
fair bit of his 30's travelling the world
in the pre-internet days of Post Restantes.
During these hazy days he financed it all
by selling jewellery purchased in Indonesia
in Sydney, apple picking in Orange, making
and selling juggling balls, labouring and
waiting (both types). Upon return, when
the cold reality of work came calling again,
he fell into an IT career based on the Millennium
bug and got paid handsomely for pretending
to know what he was doing (which kept him
happy with all the scuba holidays he could
get his fins on).
He never thought he'd find work he *actually*,
*really* enjoys, or a soul mate, which just
goes to show you that life really is full
of surprises.
Whereas Jon lacked direction Natalie was
irritatingly focused from a young age. Natalie
studied fashion design in London and worked
as a knitwear designer and illustrator selling
her work from her studio on London's south
bank. When "New Meeeja" was invented Natalie
saw its potential as an illustrator, packed
up her paintbrushes and returned to study
full time. Natalie had 3 amazing web jobs
as a designer, head of design and design
consultant and was responsible for campaigns
from S-Club 7 through to The Cabinet office
(eerily similar). She is a qualified typesetter,
graphic designer, illustrator and tailor.
She is also an expert on how to end old
diets and start new ones.
The long term dream of having her own business
was realised in 2004 when she set up her
first company Two by Two Weddings which
has grown to be one of the most successful
independently owned Wedding stationery companies
operating in the UK. Her greeting card company
Luvio is a great opportunity to be creative
and to collaborate with artists and writers
and is going from strength to strength.
Natalie's work has been heralded by the
press as "the ultimate in stationery" &
has been featured in Brides, You and Your
Wedding, Wedding Day, London Weddings, Vogue,
Tatler, Wedding Venues, Cosmo Bride, Red,
The Evening Standard, The Independent &
The Telegraph. Natalie has appeared on TV
as a Wedding stationery consultant & is
an expert contributor on The Wedding Communities
Website. Jon has only ever appeared on tv
fleetingly when he was 12 in a Barclays
Bank ad.
Natalie and Jon live and work in the beautiful
city of Winchester, Hampshire with their
mucho spoilt darlingo cat Nelson.
